The tenants association predicts an average growth of 5% in rents in Germany in 2018.

The boom in the German real estate market has been observed for more than 10 years and there is a clear correlation between rents and rising house prices. The tendency is especially pronounced in large cities, where the rise in the cost of square meters is more rapid.

In turn, the tenants association is calling on politicians to increase the number of more affordable housing, in order to avoid social tensions.

Recall that according to a study by the Institute of German Economics in Cologne: 26.8% of the costs of German citizens in 2017 fell on rent, utilities, housing maintenance.
